OMG the food here is delicious and the servings are plentiful! Real diner food in a new modern space. My sister had the Greek chicken salad that was massive and I had the biscuits and gravy that was overflowing on the plate in the best way. Soup of the day was great. Most foods are made fresh right in house. Barstools at the counter have backs for your comfort! Staff is friendly and seem to know a lot of the other customers too. We will definitely be coming here often as it is in the neighborhood. Support small and local businesses!
Have been a regular here since they opened, and have taken many friends and coworkers . The staff is very genuine and the food is amazing!! Well worth stopping by if you are looking for a great meal!!
We had the best breakfast here! Visiting from Montana for our son’s graduation from Navy boot camp, and Lena’s was the perfect breakfast spot to visit before the big event. Our server Teri was an absolute delight, and really took great care of us.

Nice, newly built, clean diner right off of hwy 41. They make really good cheeseburgers and fries. They also have a coffee machine to make cappuccinos, lattes, etc.. Also if you sit at the bar, you can see your food being made in the kitchen. Will come back again for dessert!
We randomly stopped at the gas station and noticed this place next to it. My husband and I shared a patty melt. It was superb and their fries are unforgettable. Whoever made those fries should be training culvers corporate headquarters. They literally are the best fries you will ever have.
This family restaurant was top tier. First one of the owners told me i had to ring the bell for seevice. I said are you joking and he laughed and so i figured it was, but really nice people. The food was great and so was the atmosphere. I ordered a steak, potatoes, and a house salad...my steak cooked to perfection...I am a well done girly and it was still tender and juicy. I didnt take any pictures but believe me it was good. Thank you for having me and being so accommodating. If you are in North Chicago (Great Lakes) check this place out you will not be disappointed 😀

Ella’s Grill is such a friendly, amazing, hidden gem in Illinois. Me and my aunt went here and we were immediately greeted with the smell of fresh cooked meats and sweet pastries. I wish I knew the waitresses name because the service was incredible! She had dream catcher earrings and a black flower in her hair. She greeted us as soon as we came in and throughout the entire time we were there she was very efficient and always smiling! I got the Country Skillet and it was incredibly tasty with creamy gravy and such good potato’s! The coffee is super good as-well and the orange juice was super tasty. When we asked for the check the kind waitress gave us a warm smile and a piece of candy as she thanked us. As we left the cook thanked us as-well and was very nice to us. I couldn’t recommend this place more and it is now my new favourite breakfast place! Thanks Ella’s Grill!!!! ❤️❤️❤️
Spirro and Terry are amazing, the food is fantastic, the service is quick, and everything tastes like it's homemade. I plan on making a stop here at least once a week because of how amazing this place it. They somehow packed the magic feeling that is eating at an old school dinner into a bright and new building with amazing food!
